What is this, now, three times? This is pushing poor Sarah to the limit, that’s no lie.
Actually made it a touch early this week, and despite the government-imposed jet lag called Daylight Savings Time. I wish we’d just turn it on and leave it on. Better for everyone. All this fussing with time is stupid and pointless.
At any rate, one way or the other the page is done, and another week is underway. All the best, everyone!
Maaaan, this makes Sarah now a double Hibakusha, a double victim of nuclear attacks.
Triple, if you count the attack she survived while riding around in Mike’s guts.
Wait, so Mike got hit by a second nuclear blast during the global nuclear exchange? Must have missed that one.
Let’s hope that Sarah won’t need another ‘transplant’ from Mike again.
Well, that happened…

“Oh, no. Not again.”
😛
I agree 100% on the time. Everybody has lights now. There’s no reason to shift the sunlight schedule around for the winter or the summer however we want to do it whatever the normal time we should just use that like everybody else in the world. The entire state of Illinois doesn’t do it and they’re a farm state!
For me, well, there is a possiblility I’ll have a nightshift when the change occurs, so I will officially work shorter, for the same pay, so I don’t really mind – this time 😛
I think you meant Indiana and they have since 2005: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_in_Indiana
You know what’s really stupid about daysaving time ? We had that in Germany MORE THAN once… in WW1 and WW2. It was cancelled twice because it did not deliver what it was supposed for : saving energy. And then, the allies brought it back aaand it was cancelled in 1949.
Until we got it back in 1980.
Guess what : it still doesn’t save energy.
It doesn’t save anything except play time on golf courses. I hear that’s a pretty big lobby trying to keep it in effect in the United States. How big is golf in Germany?
Wow, Sarah, it really sucks to be you – maybe don’t try and hit a casino… 😛
Isn’t it a metaphorcal representation of blast hitting the base? She’s still hooked into the sensory net.
It could just as easily be the real Sarah, as well. She was standing beside Mike in the hangar bay IIRC, which a few chapters ago was shown to essentially be a giant garage. So it would be much less protected than the rest of the underground facilities in a direct strike, I’d think.
Underground hangars are a thing.
All interesting possibilities…
😉
Please tell me that’s drywall flying around our Sarah, and not armor plate.
What’s the difference between being crushed to death and being crushed to death more?
Depends on how much drywall we’re talking about.
What would weigh more, a ton of drywall or a ton of armor plate? 😉
I’d pick armour plate any day – it’s additional protection at little to no additional cost, which is always a good thing 😛
If she lives through this she should play the lottery first a nuke and now this!
I’m pretty sure this is also a nuke. :V
Id this was a penetrating hit, she will probably glow in the dark and make every geiger-counter go crazy.
More like turn into paste due to flying debris.
You never know. I’m pretty mean to my characters, so no promises. 😉
Great comic! I really enjoy the art style, and it portrays the military rather well! Can’t wait for the next update! BTW Mr. Average, there’s a great book series about sentient tanks called the old guy chronicles, maybe give it a read, get some new ideas. Just my 2 cents. keep up the good work!
I’ll definitely have a look! The Kieth Laumer inspiration for Mike and Victor is pretty clear, but sapient tank literature is oddly thin beyond that.
There are very few barely plausible arguments as to why warfare evolved in such way.
Just read through the archives, and I have to say, well done! The art is amazing, the portrayal of military life is spot on, and the technical details are firmly rooted in fact. This has become one of my all-time favorites. Mr. Average, you might want to check out a book series called The old guy chronicles, it gives a very interesting look into sentient tanks. Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work!
Thanks, man! I appreciate that a lot!
Especially with calling in a nuclear strike without proper authorisation.
Or placing nuclear assets so near the border.
Who says they didn’t have proper authorization?
And the Soviet had nuclear-tipped FROG missiles in Cuba during the Crusis, and both the US and Soviets had forward-deployed SRBM and NSNW units all across Europe for decades. So I don’t think I’m THAT far off. Superheavy robotic tanks, well… ya got me there. But they’re still fun for sci fi.
Well, you know who gave the release order.
Unless here “tactical” weapons are treated like larger “firecrackers”, and authority to gave release order is spread onto lower ranks.
