I have to say, I really don’t know how I got this page done, and it’s a stunt I hope not to have to repeat anytime soon. I spent more than half my weekend on what amounted to a wild goose chase through Brooklyn – by car, no less – to meet up with a bunch of people who spent most of the day talking about themselves and chain-smoking. This was followed by a rather hellish run to JFK Airport in the rain, on what proved to be an insanely busy night. Top that with what seems to be food poisoning of some kind (plus the blazing headache I had from second-hand smoking two packs of cigarettes), and, well, you get the picture. It was not the kind of weekend I normally like to have. Although, special thanks are due to Mike, whose presence was a redeeming factor to my ill-fated trip to Brooklyn, and Ken, who was kind enough to pay the tolls and fuel besides when I came to get him at the airport, when I was quite willing to consider it a civic duty.
But, in any case, I’m sick to my stomach, nursing a dreadful headache, have utterly lost my appetite and am subsisting on soup and gatorade, and yet, somehow, I got the page done. I do hope it isn’t too melodramatic, but, I mean… I’m allowed to have a scene like this after all that, aren’t I?
Oy vey. Well, I’m off to bed. I don’t know why it’s been such a gigantic succession of irritating problems for me lately, but what can one do but keep plugging? All the best, folks.
Sometimes you don’t need dialog to get the point of what you’re trying to say across to a reader.
The emotions on the characters speak loudly enough.
Well done sir!
Thanks! It’s tough, sometimes, to carry off a scene like this, but I’m glad it worked out.

Touching. This is beautifu, especially in contrast with the violence earlier on. I can hear Haulley yelling “Use it! USE IT, DAMNIT!” and DeVeer just stuttering “I… I can’t do this, sir. I WON’T!” in response.
MIKE looming over the scence is a excellent detail which just enhances the whole experience of this scene: The magnificent titan of war coming to the aid of his former enemies.
# 2nd hand smoking induced headaches: I know this too well. Here’s to a ban on smoking in publice places. I really love it. Finally I can go out again without suffering a day of agony the day over.
what is A2 mine?
can anyone here explain to me whateheck is MIKE antena look like a cruser ship fore front?
Ulrich – thanks! It took a lot of thought and a lot of different iterations, but this sequence ( this page and the one following) are working out. Heavy symbolism can be overdone so easily, it’s a tough play.
Atom – the A2 Mine is referenced earlier in the chapter – it’s an atomic weapon they were getting ready to use to blast into Mike’s hangar, but never had the chance to use. As for his antennae, they’re sensor masts that give Mike’s computer a proper all-round view of the battlefield. They also house the radio and Trimat transmitters he uses to “talk.”

those lovely days… let’s just hope it doesn’t drag you over the floor for the comming days.
Well, sorry to say it kind of did, but I knew what I was getting into when I joined this business. 🙂

so then , the russian army follow MIKE to here , and by there look , well it seem we might have a huge evacuation run.
Wow might seem to be a very protective person hehe , hmn Guy did anyone notice the gun shot mark on the 3 heavy russian walking plaform — i think there might have been some very bad battle going on .
Damn , but if they come here then what happen over there? wow so much to know about — ok back to the CONASUR , are they resulted over ?? Or there still shooting inside ?
“We have people need medic over here stop fighting over there ”
guy i just learn that alcohol actually lower the radiation level on your body , and red wine wash down isotope from the inside of your body .
ah i am so shy to look at the crying girl faces , it make me hard to bear the emotion . but nice panel mister Averages , nicely done .
So are we gonna see some united battle , and people sit down to talk together or what?
Bingo on the evacuation. As for what happens next, well, I’m not going to ruin it for you.
😀

Mr average it seem that the huge russian robot is operated by 2 to 3 person ( reason is i see 2 big hand move side by side , while the small hand move forward — about the 3 person , well just guessing , but is it true? )
and how much food or fuel can you carry on that thing , it huge , do they have any weapon ? ( they don’t seem to be fully construction bot so , that mean they must be have some kind of weapon — the way there hand look told me that — it not some scafolding hand for repair or building .)
everyone , why does MIKE have a little tiny gun under his giant barrel?
and the russian heavy suit , wow they can actually drop there gun and used 2 hand ( even drop there backpag , wow , well i thought it just like a terminator and the minigun just stick to the hand .)
Most modern tanks have a coaxial machinegun. I assume Mike’s is in the 20-30mm range, for dealing with powered armor.
well it kinda look that one hit from that MIKE big size machine gun can punch thought a tank ( so that is over powered )
you know that small gun can sniper entire bunker
Tiny is a relative term here, that “tiny gun” is probably a 100-120mm cannon.
The logic is simple really, Mikes main gun is clearly for destroying fortified targets and other super heavy tanks like himself, however, for anything smaller than that, the main gun is overkill and he cant afford to waste his limited supply of ammo during a battle, so he has a smaller secondary cannon for destroying conventional tanks and armored vehicles.
The only real tank that remotely compares to Mike is the Panzerkampfwagen VIII “Maus”, a 188 metric ton monster from WWII, the single finished prototype carried a 128mm main cannon with a coaxial 75mm cannon in its turret.
i thought we compared MIKE with the Rattle of hitler size battleship tank?
i mean this one have target cordinated computer too , ya know , and auto loaded special ammunition in him too . Wow if those machine goes to war , it gonna be a wasteland .
thank for the info — next is what about airplane i mean there should be a gun to right?
i miss those missle in the beginning of the comic book , well they should make it smaller .
GUy , what will happen if in the beginning of the sequences , MIKE instead of lanuching missile , he used that little cannon of his and shott the wheel of the armored vehilce or the cockpit of it .
Do you think the captive will be alive after that?
i still gonna be try to abit about that scenario , seen it lesslikely gonna turn into nuclear war hehehe.
at the beginning of the storyline , there is something very odd here , it as it SEEM someone pull the trigger from the UEF ah sorry UEN and launching all the missle from the faction , and triggered all other nuclear missile from other faction aswell—- that mean someone is setting this whole thing up .
MIKE did not started nuclear war WOOOOOO MIKE buddy you are innocent.
YE i am serious , because the nuclear explosion in the begin of the story is in russian territory , that mean woever report or activated fully the nuclear warfare must be , used everyone as a decoy.
SO let see is it CORNASUR or ????
russian have tiny tank compared to MIKE . heheheeh
I did say “real tank”, the P-1000 Ratte never existed outside of conceptual designs, Albert Speer canceled the project in 1943 before Krupp could even finish the technical blueprints.
the Pz VIII Maus project on the other hand wasn’t cancelled until after they had already completed one operational prototype and the hull for a second, at the end of the war the Soviets shot up and captured the prototype, after which they yanked off the turret mounted it on the spare hull and shipped the whole thing back to Russia, where it still resides today.
Well, it looks like we got deserters here… or defectors of dissidence.
bah it mean , a tiny possibility of friendship , where we either gonna find the person who pull the nuclear trigger or atleast stop the war .
I won’t wreck it, but I do want to say that I’m glad, at least, that the story is evoking the response I’d hoped for.

Well…
Technically the first nuke went off when FSR commanding officer got scared out of her mind by a lumbering behemoth (Mike) invading her territory and all other means of stopping it failed.
But that is hard to count as “starting a war” because this nuke was targeted on FSR controlled territory, so it was a defensive nuke…
At the same time – in the world on the brink of all-out atomic war there are lots of countermeasures set to start at the very moment the first nuke goes boom. Because otherwise you’d be giving your potential enemy time to nuke all of your bases before any confirmation of orders can come. And those trigger-happy countermeasures were never designed with a possibility of “defensive nuke” launches in mind.
So by my opinion – the only correct answer to “who started the war?” is “Everyone did.” The war got started not because some person desided that this is a right moment to start throwing nukes. The war started because there were too much tension, too much gruges and distrust between factions.
The CONASUR..
..that bomb they hve in the basement is a hydrogen fusion bomb.
There is no upper limit for the yield.
Oh god. Is that bomb a cobalt-salted bomb!? :-O
For christs sake. Ten 100Mt original-yeild Tsar bombs with a cobalt jacket could have exterminated all life on the planet!
Not exactly, it would however make a very large area uninhabitable for centuries.
Would we CARE if one went off?
I guess that after a certain point, a few bombs more or less might be a moot point. However, atomic war versus thermonuclear war are different orders of magnitude when it comes to recovery. Hydrogen weapons are so much more powerful than uranium or plutonium weapons that they can blast radioactive material into the ionosphere, fundamentally altering weather patterns across the planet as a result of even a limited exchange. Atomic bombs, though horrendously destructive, are not able to do that. Which is not to diminish their danger, either – they can badly contaminate locally, poisoning the ground for decades. Actually, as a young man, I tidied archaeology before I went into my current career, and it’s interesting that when Carbon-14 dating artifacts, you cannot get more accurate than “absolute now” or “technical present,” which is January 1, 1950. Past that point, there is so much carbon pollution due to thermonuclear testing that radiocarbon dating becomes impossible. So I mean, imagine what a War would do.

Your ordeal in getting this installment completed while sick is equal to Michael Jordan playing in championship games and hitting seven three pointers with the flu. At least in my mind it is!
Well, I wouldn’t say I’m Michael Jordan. I’d settle for Julius Irving. But he never played the championship with the flu. It’s very weird when those high stress moments bring out performances like that.

Your art is as elegant as usual Mathieu. I apologize for not being here for awhile. I really have to go back and catch up!
it very smooth and well executed frame
Thank you both! I was very happy with this one. And also the next one, which I’m finishing up as we speak. But yes, thank you! I’m glad you all like it.

why is thermor nuclear so creepy?
and is there anymore radiation weapon out there?
what about the hadron collider , they already are a nuclear station , since the radiation from that places is off the charges , look at the way they sling the atom from those tube .
SO how dangerous is other more dangerous than thermo nuclear and what is nculear and what is the possibiliy of the dangerous used of hadron collider?
i know this is kind of wier but , IT seem that no one in public actually know what the hadron collider is isn’t it
The Large Hadron Collider is a particle accelerator that uses oscillating electromagnets to move small particles of matter to near-relativistic speeds so they can be smashed apart to see what the component parts are. Specifically, they were looking for a particular energy vibration called the Higgs Boson that was predicted by quantum physicists in the 60s that is a transmitter of the weak atomic force in other elementary particles.
Not all radiation is equally scary, by the way. Radio waves and light waves are both beneficial and we’re immune to their effects. However, so e high energy radiation is lethal, like gamma ionizing radiation produced by atomic fission, or neutron radiation produced by fusion and fission. They cause serious and agonizing disease called ARS, or Acute Radiation Syndrome, and even if you survive that, you can end up with cancer or other problems as side effects. It is this that makes the radiation effects of nuclear weapons so fearful – not only their terrible destructive power but the suffering they produce in the survivors.

hmn i still think the hadron is potentially dangerous but pass it anyway , so what about chemical VS biological weapon? and versus solution between warring faction , do everyone have despered mental to launch these weapon in both real world and 6 commando world?/
oh hey i just look on the internet i just know that alcohol reduced radiation , and water too , how wonderful it was , incase you have more bear or wine than water heeh .
and then most people doesn’t die in nuclear blast actually the larger portion die later on , and in some case infected to other , like children birth defect from there mother .
You should check on doctor wilheim riech he talk something about prevented and cure completedly cancer and radiation , definately using body energy , like aura — you know this when you started to see you can control your breath , it very easy i have done this but ye , you might need me to be with you to show so i may pass it , but water energy without drinking can also disapated radiation provided that you have plenty around you .
and then the worse nuclear catasphore is seem as contient cloud passing by == since even if it manages to wipe out of a cities , it also capable of lay wasted to other nation country as well.
YOU know the so call plan of both russian and american allies launching there missile at each other seem to be the most dumbest ever — i mean the russian or the american should have developed anti missile and anti radiation as — PRIORITY – unlesss someone up there like to kill people and reduced population –> which they did have , check agenda 21 , it wier , and then it inhuman .
i hate nuclear war , can’t they just make designated accurated missile ? i mean we only need to take the command out not the entire population / Well guess that both side treat human being as pawn.
wow i don’t wanted to live in cold war , but think about it we could changed alot of think if both side developed anti weapon instead of weapon .
OH and i just know that the UN in our world — is one of the orchestrator of WW1.2.3 yep that bad but hey , now we know that those dude who said to defended us are actually silver tounge heh they have there whole different agenda .
OH and you should also know that nuclear weapon of american somehow very much related to missile technology of the german—– are they cooperated in back room? after all without those complex cordinated techology , by now american would launch nuclear bomb by using fortress B52 hehe , well abit more modern with stealh coated .
well it bad , i don’t wanted anyone to kill anyone , it waste of time no one gain any of it . YOU know what is the strange thing?
the more i digging to our war history (basicly everywhere) the more i started to realized most war is actually orchestrated rather than realwar , there is always someone who shipped weapon to both side and watch peopel killing each other and then when those people who is either kill each other or become weak ,. they slowly being control , converted and making slave upon by the one that giving the weapon .
it painful and it also make me think is it the one giving them weapon is even human?
i mean thoughtout our history most weapon is basicly more and more increased in how many people they could kill , very diffferent from the main goal of taking out the command section , very strange 00 almost make no sense why else would you go out and just kill people for fun?
and you know what is the weir thing?
the most weir is that the nation the faction that giving people weapon to other cvillization and cultural and nation of old ages , is still existed today , and they still getting rich by doing that , way rich , they hide there name is different cooperation name , well let just say they control the world .
it actually a simple stand point , and hell i like the world in 6 commando than in real world because being control by cooperation mean , we death , there is no more human anymore . well i hope that someone would kill them all and tell people about the illusion world they are living on .
and can you show me your scetch of how you draw that russian girl? i wanted to see it , she is beautifull , wow that actually catch my emotion , and ye even one of the member in 6 commando too . ehehe i am a boy ye , bye , please replied i have some more question too
and ye nuclear weapon is dangerous , but only the aftermath is even more — ok is there any report in the real world we live about mutant born from nuclear war > or testing site ??? etc…. . i mean it propably real but not that fast mutation like one hour , well it minimum need a week .
but hey we should really check on propability of real mutant of our world hehe , one more reason to cancel every single weapon that is similarity to nuclear . I like peace , but please no hidden agenda or mass anihalation agenda .
SERIOUSLY check those agenda they sound unlike human definately
