Thanks! SPX this weekend, and then who knows, but I’m making a major effort to get this back and finish the story. We’re pretty close to done anyway so I might as well run the course!
Sigh, I lost track of where I was in the comic, so I started over at the beginning. Chapter 1 & 2 were stark reminders of the very real dangers of nuclear war erupting in current times.
Thank you for sharing your work on this comic, very emotive.
Thanks for saying so! I know it’s been a long slog while my life has gone on and off the rails, but check the Facebook page today. All hope is not yet lost.
Yeah I have absolutely zero idea what’s up with the state in regards to my permits but I expect them imminently. Then this bad boy can go up for sale officially!
And to you! I wish I could promise that 2023 will be the Year of 6-Commando but right now my job has three jobs so I’m not hugely hopeful. I’m going to try though!
Like Ulrich said, Happy New Year. I’ve left a couple comments here over the years but always a different name. When I found that cool giant tank picture on google as a child, I never knew I’d soon be holding it in my hands at 23. What a surreal and happy feeling 🙂 Congratulations Mathieu!!!
Wow (no pun intended!) thank you for the note, and you have my sincere apologies that your post got so badly buried by my anti-spam filter. But better late than never! If you would like a copy of the book and other goodies, please email me – I’m doing direct to reader at the moment and would love to have you get a copy!
If you decide you can’t get back into the swing of things, please let us know. Maybe give us a text outline of where you had planned to go with things, to wrap it all up. Another comic I used to read did that, when the author got to a point where he wasn’t able to continue. It was nice. Gave a sense of closure, which felt positive. Obviously, it would’ve been nice to see the rest of the comic, but life gets in the way sometimes.
There isn’t really anything owed to an audience from an author who is doing this for free. I don’t want to give the impression that I’m implying otherwise. I still hope to see the rest of this someday. I’ve been here since around 2012 & I’ve waited 4 years since the last 6 Commando comic. I can wait a while longer.
Good luck with everything, and I’ll see you again in a month or two.
Well here’s the score: I am going to finish 6-Commando. It’s so close to done that I might as well see it through. However, right now, I commute between two different countries on a weekly basis, and this totally upended my personal life. I work on it when I can but those times are very few. I have another book I’m working on, too, long term, but that is also going nowhere because my work life is so insane. You might have seen the sketches for that other book on Facebook. But my job is my main commitment right now. I had to cancel all my conventions through the end of the year just because of the amount of international travel I have to do right now. However, I have definitively NOT given up on this comic.
And. If you would like a copy of the book shown so tantalizingly above, please contact me and we will work out how to get you one.
I’m glad to hear you’re still planning on finishing everything. I’m definitely looking forward to it. The commuting between two countries on a weekly basis is pretty wild. I have to commute internationally for my job as well, but that’s more like every four to six months, rather than weekly. I also understand and agree that your commitment must be to your job first. You have to keep the lights on and food on the table. I hope everything settles into a more manageable routine for you.
As it happens, I would very much like a copy of that book, but I am currently between ships. I have a new job lined up, but it’s a lengthier process to hire on with this company. TLDR, I’m on a limited budget at the moment. As soon as I start my next job, I will definitely contact you about a copy. Good luck to you Mr. Average and stay safe in your travels.
It’s for anyone who wants one. Email me. I’m out of the country (again) this week but I will try to keep up with contacts. You can also DM the Facebook page – may be easier that way.
I can send as soon as this weekend. As everyone knows, of course, my schedule is utter madness since I travel so much but I 100% want people to have a copy if I can get one to them!
You’ll forgive, I hope, my delay in getting back to you – and t has been a horrendous week at work. You see perhaps why I had to dial back on my comics! But I have receive everyone’s emails and am sending out a raft of books this weekend!
No, not at all! I’m just in a crazy point in my work life and have been highly irresponsible with my email. I will check and contact you shortly! I’d be glad to get you a copy!
Ooooo….
Nice!
Thanks man! You’re a true die-hard!
Thank you.
Sweet.
Oh, very nice. But we still need the matching UNA/FSR coffee mugs and M-1-E t-shirts.
(Takes notes furiously)
I’m workin on it!
(I also secretly want a UNA coffee mug as seen in Chapter 6.)
Nice
Is this an homage to Red Alert: Command & Conquer?
Not intentionally, no. It has more in common with Keith Laumer’s “BOLO” series and David Drake’s “Hammer’s Slammers” than anything else, I think.
Outstanding!! Glad you are getting back to 6 Commando

Hi Mr. Average! I finally saw this and sent an email.

Can I get in on that copy of the book deal/offer too? Or is that only for the cool people like Tinymurder?

Done.

No worries. Take your time.
Email me and I’ll send it out!
Will do.
Did you get my response to your email? iCloud email isn’t reliable now and then, I‘m afraid.
I did! I’m making you up a package right now!
🙂

Don’t worry about that! 🙂
Have you still got some of these? I’ve been a fan of the series since I found your DA account.
Email me and we’ll work out how to get you one.
How do I get one? I love this series
It arrived today. Really nice! Can’t wait to re-read it. Thank you!
I’m glad you finally got it! International shipping is just impossible these days.
Yeah, I know. Made some odd experiences with eBay last year.
Don‘t forget to send me that PayPal invoice.
Thank you again!
I emailed you multiple times for a copy but never got a response. Are they sold out?
No, not at all! I’m just in a crazy point in my work life and have been highly irresponsible with my email. I will check and contact you shortly! I’d be glad to get you a copy!
