So. Mike has some explaining to do. But as this still has to play out, I’ll keep my nonsense to a minimum.
Another week goes by, eh? Super huge thanks to all my fellow SpiderForest creators, who directed a lot of new readers to the comic last week – I’ll be thanking you individually, as well. Everyone has had such kind words for me, and has been so supportive and constructive, it really has been wonderful. And welcome to all the new readers, too! I’m glad you seem to dig what I’m into here, and I always hope I can provide something you’ll want to read, and will find entertaining.
Anyway, I have a busy week ahead of me, so I better just turn in now. All the best, everyone!
To quote Artie Johnson’s German soldier character on “Laugh In” – “Veddy interestink.”
🙂
The plot thickens, as they say?
The plot’s already so thick I doubt it could be stirred with a shovel. 😉
You’d need an industrial cement mixer to get it to MOVE!
Well it does say “novel” up top there. You knew what you were getting into! 😉
Oh, it just occurred to me your Nickname is Mr. Average because your last name is “Moyen”.
Jesus Christ, it took me much longer than it should have to realize it.
XD
Only six years or so.
Never having learned any French (discounting the basics, such as “oui”), I wouldn’t have ever made the connection without someone else pointing it out.
OK definitely gonna be filling in some blanks as we get closer to the end of this chapter, definitely a fun ride so far.
😀
Glad you like it so fr!
Well, that answers the eye question. I hope she gets a cybernetic eye at some point. That shoots lasers.
Just kidding. That would be silly.
Just worry if she responds to orders with the phrase “By Your Command”
I’m pretty sure she DOESN’T have a plan.
Aaaand this, kids, is science 😀
She’s been blinded with it, you could say. 😉
Well shit all things aside he did save her ass.
Can’t argue with results, so they say.
Wireless long distance low interference brain-machine interface? Easy.
Replicate a missing eye when she still has one left? Can’t do it.
Replicate the function of part/all of a new brain? Nah mate, chill. I’ve got this…
Man I love this series… 🙂
😀
We’re gettin’ there, I promise.
I just read through everything in a mad, two-hour rush. HOT DAMN! I was absolutely hooked to the story. I hate ongoings though, I really wish it will be finished before I retire 😀
It’s absolutely marvelous, I need to subscribe and follow it closely.
Wow – I’m thrilled you like it! To see you sit down and read it in a single go is really high praise, from where I sit. Thank you!
So, my “unicorn blood” theory was right after all.
“[…] The blood of a unicorn will keep you alive, even if you are an inch from death, but at a terrible price. You have slain something pure and defenceless to save yourself, and you will have but a half-life, a cursed life, from the moment the blood touches your lips.”
– Firenze, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Ever since chapter 4 i have believed Mike made Sarah “drink his unicorn blood” to save her. And here we are, it’s true. It even turns up he replaced parts of her brain with prostheses, giving her a “half-life” and making her vulnerable to Not_mike’s mind control (or curse?).
I can totally imagine the thick silvery liquid flowing underneath Mike’s armor plates, tightening his bolts and unspilling his bearings.
🙂 We’ll see. I admit I’ve never heard of the metaphor before, though.
Aside from those abilities I find o fact more disturbing:
MIKE’s intelligence and ability of independent thought and action.
🙂
I’m glad to see someone standing up for the ineffable nature of sapient intellect!
Well, at least there’s one good thing about it! Namely, that MIKE visualizes himself as a human.
Frankly, I think that’s GREAT news!
