Yeah, this is pretty much what happens when you “snap” I think.
Sorry for the delay – to be totally honest I fell asleep last night before I had the chance to finish the page. Which is odd, because I’ve always been an insomniac. I guess this means my treatment has worked, because I’m actually getting sleepy at night. Who knew? In any case, it gave me the chance to rework a few things, and although I’m still inclined to be horribly judgemental of my own work I’m much happier with the bits I had the chance to edit.
And of course it was right back into the pressure cooker today, so there’s THAT, naturally. But this is the life I chose.
All the best folks. See you next week.
Is this really her memories or a changed version?
Well, that’s a very interesting thought. I have to wonder about that – is it Read Only Memory or Read/Write? Hmmm…
Given too that, as I understand it, human memories can be unreliable. We basically tend to rewrite memories every time we access them.
Yes, except for those with eidetic memory, which is thankfully rare. I wouldn’t want to remember everything with perfect clarity. Even through the haze of time I remember more than I want to.
I hope that it is restricted to our memory, and not all organic memory. Otherwise the future is bleak when it comes to higher density organic memory storage.
I’d be interested in this treatment you had and how long it took to become effective. I find it really hard to switch off at night and one I do, I often sleep through anything… unless I’m like camping…then I’m up at dawn.
…
I remember more than I care to already. If they start inventing ways to improve my memory I’ll probably never bother to get the upgrade! Who needs it? I can torment myself just fine with what I have already, than you!
Well, she didn’t kick him in the crotch, but she DID kick him in the face, and she didn’t waste time yelling at him instead of hitting him. I am content. ^^
It’s been an educational experience for Peter (a slyly apt name for him, I must say), and the learning curve has been a steep one, though he may become the better man for it. Or even any kind of a man–that would be a start. ><
We’re all idiots in high school.
True dat. 😉
Yup. Peter’s still breathing, all his bits are still attached and, at the very least, he’s had the best chance ever to learn an extremely important life lesson.
Unfortunately, however much Peter had it coming, I don’t see Sarah coming out of this encounter without some hefty consequences.
Usually the way it goes. Happened to me more than once: getting teased to death is fine, but defend yourself and suddenly you’re the bad guy. Oh, well. This train just moves forward, like the feller says.
suck if Che Guevara lover!
I never understood how people could wear t-shirts with a murderer on them. I realize this is me going out on a limb politically, but I mean, the guy shot people in the face. Nobody is going to convince me he was a nice guy at heart.
Same reason people still say good things about Jesse James, very good PR that romanticized a character to the point they become a boarder line fictional symbol of rebellion rather than a man who shot people in the face.
She’s got a lot of pent up aggression, hein
She sure does. In the real world she would not be the best candidate for a military career – too unpredictable and undisciplined.
