Well, folks, it’s been a great summer, and the time off did me a whole lot of good. But it’s time to get back to it! And so here we have the first page of Chapter 6. We’re heading towards the halfway mark of this marathon!
Among the many things that happened this summer, by the way, was that my graphics tablet, a venerable Wacom Cintiq 12WX, finally went the way of all flesh. I could probably have repaired or troubleshot it better than I did, but all things considered, I simply upgraded. Expensive, but worth it. And these days, touch-sensitive technology seems to be the way it’s going, so that’s taking a lot of getting used to. But I shall persevere!
Thanks to everyone for the patience while I was on vacation. I’m sure that more than a few of you may have thought I wasn’t coming back! But I think I’m well past the point of no return on this. To stop now would be a gigantic bummer.
So, here we go! On to Chapter 6!
Yay!
😀
Glad to have you back.
It’s good to be back. I didn’t realize how much I missed doing this comic every week until I stopped. And although the rest was good, coming back to it is good, too!
Welcome, and onward and forward.
😀 Thanks, man. Six Years of 6-Commando! God willing, I can finish this by November, 2019. Which is my goal.
That sounds great. I fear I will feel a bit at loss when you are done.
Also, I am an admirer of grinding along slowly and steadily towards a rather well set goal* rather than “hunting butterflies”, so to speak.
* Too bad I am not always good at that myself, though ironically I am somehow working my way there.
It might be more like 2021, but who knows? I chose that date because it’s the supposed timeframe of Blade Runner, which I’ve leaned on heavily for inspiration in terms of visual design, and also because it’s just about ten years from the time I started this comic, and ten years is enough for one book. Still and all, I’ve been reconsidering print now that the story is about at the halfway point – I’ve planned 12 chapters, though I might change that up or down, depending, and the finale is a two-parter anyway.
At any rate, it’s a long way off yet, suffice it to say.
I was under the impression that “Blade Runner” was set in 2019. Glad to see you back. Anxious to see much more.
That’s one big ass bullet on the floor there…
When your pistol has an anti-power armor micro-RPG slung under the main barrel – it needs an extra-large bullet to go in it.
Interesting cover
It’s actually the first page. Page zero, since I always try to start on the left hand page of a spread.
No dialogue though.
Love the comic. How much of it is based on your gaming exploits highlighted on TMP, The Wargames Website, and other places? (Absolutely love your 3mm WH40k project)
Hm. You know, not much really. I’ve had a few backgrounds for comics that I’ve used to set up games for friends, and I guess the original genesis of 6-Commando was as a graphic novel in the “Ogre” universe from Steve Jackson Games, but it’s become so completely its own thing since then I think it’s pretty much an independent project at the moment.
I’m glad you like my little games projects by the way. I’ve stayed clear of the Reef of Armintrout’s Woe since the Late Unpleasantness, but I’m surprised you followed my 3mm 40K project – it’s reminded me to get back to it sometime soon!
