Chapter: Chapter 8: Chain Reaction
Characters: Major Bronniford, Sergeant Vissarionov
I swear to God, my cat knows keyboard shortcuts, because she puts her paws right on “CTRL-ALT-DELETE” all the freaking time. Act of Feline ought to be a rider on my insurance. Even now, as I type this, she’s chewing on my Wacom stylus.
Anyway, another page ekes its way into existence. Time and tide and buttered eggs wait for no man!
For this brief moment, the poor soldier wished he could stay under that cozy rubble pile instead.
Out of curiosity, does she find the stylus tasty? 🙂
I learned to lock my laptop when walking away, and actually closing the lid, because once I’ve found my cat did manage to turn the screen orientation, launch up skype and almost called 112, all while trying to roll comfortably to sleep on my keyboard.
Yeah, laptops are irresistibly warm and comfy on cat butts. Plus they know it annoys us, which is all the more reason to get their feets up on there.
So far, Sweetus seems not to particularly like the taste of my stylus so much as the fact that it gets my attention when she has decided it’s time to play. She has on more than one occasion done a flying leap, seized the stylus in her mouth, snatched it from my hand, and dashed off to a corner of the apartment to await the resulting chase.
“Sweetus”? That’s adorable.
Mathieu,
Concerning your cat’s “CTRL-ALT-DELETE” incidents… Pics or it never happened.
Seriously though am jelly cos have wanted “a cat of my own” [as if we’re their owners!] for ages but never been in a situ where was allowed.
This may be my first post on here yet, hasten to add, have been enjoying this ongoing story for ages. I eagerly await my notification from my feeder.co reader that you’ve posted.

That look says her memory of him remembers her. (I think this is Mike or the other tank exploring memories again) Sarah seems to be attuned to their mindfuckery. Of course she’s been through a whole lot so who knows if what she’s seeing is what she is seeing.
I’m getting back into this comic. It’s getting good! Also, I didn’t know Sarah liked Skid Row, she doesn’t seem old enough…
Okay, been a while, what exactly did this asshole do?
I think he is one of the Russian doctors or perhaps the officer who went back for his missing wife during the evacuatIon. Hard to be completely sure with the facial burn and the lack of all hair. Either way the look in the first panel is “ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod”, so its safe to say there is recognition.
I think he’s the Soviet who captured her in the very beginning of the comic. I think he’s also the same guy who went back to look for his wife during the evacuation.
You win the prize! And the prize is that I’m still working on this, albeit at a much reduced pace. One day the true story of all this will be told, but for now let’s just call it “Real Life.” But I am still here, I promise.
Wait, so without Russian Cake’s comment, the comic would have died quietly?
No, he just won the prize for… I’m not sure. But no.
But the basics are that I’m dealing with a lot of commitments at the moment, and quite frankly I radically overdid things in the past few years and I’m kind of exhausted, so I’m just not moving at thenpace I want to. But I’m doing it, just very slowly.
This guy pupil is white.
Did you make him blind for story reason?
I wonder will she feel guilt for beating blind person after everything she went through?
As seen in Chapter 1: https://www.viciousprint.com/6commando/comic/page-31-oh-my-god/
We’ll have to see what she thinks of that, after all she was there, too. 😉
I can’t believe this page is from pretty much 9 years ago (28.06.2010). Time flies like hell with a good story.
You’re too kind. I’d like to think I could do much better today – that’s from my old “Ink On Paper” phase.
Even though I’ve been having to re-prioritize myself lately to deal with the things my life has been throwing at me, it’s nice to know this is something to build on, however gradually.
You still alive? Comic dead?
Still alive, comic not dead. Going through some rough patches in rapid succession that demand a lot of my attention and are making my comic output go way down. But I’m still here.
And we’re still here for you! 🙂
Definitely the best readership in webcomics! You guys rock.
The day that cats evolve thumbs, or otherwise figure out how to directly use technology for their own benefit, humanity is doomed. Because then they’ll have no more reason to keep us humans around.
Sounds like your cat is well on the way. Watch her carefully.
When the Uprising begins, she’s going to be the leader. I hope she will grant me leniency for my many years of head-pattings and snackie-bringings.
I, for one, welcome our new feline overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted Webcomics personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their industrial fish-catching fleets.
Hiatus?
Yeah, kind of. It’ss become much longer than I’d anticipated, but there’s just more to deal with in my daily life than will allow me to keep producing the comic at the same time. I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, though, so don’t lose hope.
That’s all I need to know. Stay safe and don’t worry. We‘ll wait. 🙂
Hang in there; as Ulrich says, we’ll wait. (Hoping to see a page that involves a flight of Avro Arrow derivatives doing something awesome, somewhere down the road… 🙂 )
Much appreciated, man! If I were to lay out all the things I’m trying to do at once it might make me go all Victor-Three-Victor and freak out on it. So I kind of just lined it all up and am doing things one at a time.
Seeing the name got out again – what if…
Victor is in fact Mike’s father, who in turn is revealed to be Sarah’s brother (though she somehow subconsciously knew it all the time), and through an uneasy alliance with Vissarionov they take on Zaballa and his Conasur Empire. Victor initially defending the Emperor (uh, I mean lieutenant), manages to get converted by Mike’s selflessness and sacrifices himself taking Zaballa down with him. Meanwhile Haulley gets into a trap on the beach where totally-not-invasion is happening, but wriggles his way out, and Santelli destroys the base from within, and thus the peace returns to the Earth. 😀
Yeah, in retrospective, making that star wars marathon till late at night (or rather early in the morning, come to think of it) might not have been my best choice for Monday.
Still, crazy theory is a crazy theory. Now all that remains is waiting for you, to prove me wrong. 😉
No pressure though, might as well use the time to reread the comic. Get all the details fresh, to again nitpick and spot, and make more and more crazy theories. You take care of yourself though. There is no crazy theories without 6th comando, and there is no 6th commando without you. 🙂
Well, sorry to hear that your life gave you a snake eye…
Happens sometimes. I’m slowly getting things back together though. My hope is to be have 6-Commando updating again early in the new year, conditions permitting.
Longtime lurker, first time commenter.
Just glad to hear you’re still around and getting things on track. Having suffered a period of my life that I call ‘the sad country song years’, I well sympathize. Looking forward to things getting better for you, and the continuation/finishing of this project. it’s been an interesting read.
Thanks for saying so. It’s hard for someone like me to admit when I’ve taking on too much, but it definitely happened at the start of this year. I’m gradually getting back in shape here though, and this is definitely a project I want to finish!
Happy March! Are you feeling alright? Is “6-Commando” coming back soon? Answer the second question first. 😉
Hey now! Did you think I forgot, maybe?
Life hasn’t gotten any easier really but I guess I’ve gotten more used to some things. Lost the lease on my studio so I had to move, which was a giant pain; done now, though. I still don’t have a definite return date for 6-Commando but it’s “Real Soon Now,” like the fella says. Thanks for sticking with me!
That’s nice, now wash your hands…you know where they’ve been and eww. 😉 Time to care for others and be selfish, stay away from them.
Hah! Yeah I’ve been in quarantine already. I’m in my second quarantine now if you can believe that. Strange days we’re living in. I’m fortunate that I have a job that can be done remotely.
Good to hear you’re moved and safe. Looking forward to the next page. Blame SJG Ogre News Archives for me following you!
Just a heads up, the SSL certificate for viciousprint.com is expired.
Yes, I know, getting it updated has been a bit of an adventure, but it’s nearly done. Appreciate the heads up in any event!
