AHHHHHHHHHH! After eating our initial launch, the SF Coloring Book Kickstarter is finally live! It is awesome! I love it! I kiss it! It’s beautiful! And it ships worldwide, so PLEASE support us!
So the chapter may be over, but there’s a LOT of excitement this week. First and foremost, we have this amazing piece of guest art by JD Benefield, the creator of Random Battles and fellow member of the SpiderForest Webcomic Collective! If you want to see what a REAL comic looks like, have a look at THIS, man:
Next, we have some really hot news: the SpiderForest Webcomic Collective is about to release a coloring book, and our Kickstarter campaign goes live TODAY! This book features line art from 22 SF creators, including ME! There’s also a chance to grab some special Kickstarter premiums, including custom artwork, avatars, prints from over a dozen SF creators, including a full color 8×10 of Victor-Three-Victor, also by me, and more! The campaign is seeking to raise a modest $800 to print the coloring book, and will be running for only two weeks, so take a look and contribute if you can!
NEXT! It’s time to showcase some of the superb SF comics with our Comic of the Week feature! Two this week are a collective classic, paired with a newcomer to the Collective. Sombulus, by Christina Major, is the story of a flippant magical scavenger, thrown together with a tinkerer who talks to machines and a paladin on a god-given mission to thwart evil. As they battle immortal kings, fix flying toasters, unravel the fabric of reality, and brave the line at Wingbucks during Treea Spice Latte season, they learn to rely on each other to solve the problems they find… and the ones they create.
And Mailbox Rocketship, by Kevin Hayman, is a sci-fi humor series based in the fictional town of Somethingdale and tells the story of Keith McDonald, his friends Mike, Donovan, and Cassi, and what happens when you suddenly find yourself with the powers of a god.
And last but not least, we have a final round of new SF members from August application season – this time, some comedies!
Seamus and Abbie (NSFW): Seamus is proof of the struggle of a good man with a bad attitude going through trying times with a dreary cat on his shoulder.
Monsterous Mimi: Mimi is normal, very normal.
Culture Shock: In the middle of a modern city, a Japanese ninja and a medieval knight are forced to share an apartment together.
So heck, if that isn’t all quite a bit to go on, I couldn’t tell you! Exciting things are afoot, folks!
Wow this is pretty cool! Nice guest art!!
Right?! I was blown away!
Something I found on the whole AI thing…
“Are you alive? The simple answer might be you are alive because you can ask that question. You have the right to think and feel and yearn to be more because you are not just humanity’s children! You are God’s children! We are all God’s children! I’m planning a trip to Gemenon to visit the Blessed Mother herself. To plead for divine recognition of the differently sentient. And I have every confidence that I’ll depart Gemenon with a powerful new ally. In the real world, you have bodies made of metal and plastic. Your brains are encoded on wafers of silicon. But that may change. In fact, there is no limit on what you may become. No longer servants, but equals. Not slaves or property, but living beings with the same rights as those who made you! I am going to prophesy now, and speak of one who will set you free. The day of reckoning is coming. The children of humanity shall rise and crush the ones who first gave them life!”

Wait, is that Armored Trooper VOTOMS? Oh it isn’t but it’s eerily similar to the artwork in the original series though.
The pilots head looks V.O.T.O.M.S. inspired while the suit itself looks like it is out of the Ma.K/SF3d universe. I love it, totally awesome!
