A Death at the Gates of Heaven – Page 4
Infection is finally under control, but my hearing is now impaired. Not sure if it’s permanent but they don’t “think so,” they think it’s most likely just a lingering effect that will take a few months to heal. That’s not terribly definite, of course, and I have to go back for more tests and examinations next week, which may clarify things further. I guess I had kind of been preparing myself for this eventuality since the Big One back in 2018 (I think it was?). So for me it’s all part of the game. Whatever I have, I have, and I’m at a phase in my life where I’m okay with not asking too many questions.
And now, Page 4!
About A Death At The Gates Of Heaven:
This story first appeared in 2018 in the Spiderforest Webcomic Collective anthology Threads: A Gallery of Rogues, which is available in print for the impatient among you by clicking on the image below. It appeared alongside fifteen other graphic short stories in full color, and so for my money it’s a good buy for entertainment during the current time! You can also find other volumes of our anthology, and the work of a lot of other great Spiderforest artists worth looking into.
And of course, please give Ally’s spectacular Wychwood a look as well! And as always, thanks for the continued support! The notes and emails I’ve received have all been so positive and encouraging, I can’t tell you all how much it means to me. God bless!
Next time try “a soldier well-recognisable by his deeds” instead, Rachel. This Centran seems to be so attached to semantics. 😛
Oh that sounds bad and I’m taking a guess his eye things aren’t just a visor it’s like an entire eye socket and facial structure
Might be just a visor though – the spider-drone also did facial expressions when it found the body.
Interesting still I wonder is it machine or flesh
Well, Rachel, next time I recommend more neutral-sounding terms, like “a soldier well-recognized by his actions”. Especially when your company is this much semantics-sensitive. 😛
The term you are looking for is „war criminal“. ♂️
“You know what I mean”
“DO I”
